MARCO RIGHETTO

INTERACTION AND SERVICE DESIGNER

Hello!

I am Marco, nice to meet you! I believe in design as a verb:
a thoughtful process to unveil and fulfill people’s need – providing elegant simplicity. I believe delightful design details embody strategies and make them successful.

In this mindset, I design – for participation – holistic services and meaningful experiences. I am extremely passionate about interaction design at the intersection of physical and digital worlds: from smart objects to living services.

SumAll – NYC

Mid-weight Interaction and Service Designer

SumAll is a tech startup with the mission to enhance people life with data. As an interaction and service designer, I am contributing to the UX of the service, extending it cross-platform and leading the quanti– and qualitative user research. Besides, I am driven by widening the definition of data beyond raw numbers, finding ways to connect data to build information that leads to knowledge.

Fjord Madrid

Mid-weight Interaction and Service Designer

As an interaction designer, I was working on elegant and simple digital experiences for mobile, tablet and desktop for internet providers, taking care of the “little big details”. As a service designer I was working on breakthrough innovation services for healthcare firms.

As a project lead, I steered the team towards the most valuable design solutions, taking care not only of the project's outcomes, but also managing the relationship with the client. As a team member, I was exited by collaboration and critiques, focusing on quality of the work and personal improvement.

Beyond working on client driven projects, I also contributed in fostering explorative design fictions, overlapping service design and hard sciences (material science, biology). Since May 2013 I had the fantastic opportunity to mentor an interaction design intern, helping her in pursuing her path and challenging her to unleash her proved potential. In my spare time I worked on personal projects involving physical computing and service design.

Little big details

I am excited when involved in a project form its early phases running research and translating business requirements into elegant design solutions.

I am devoted to those little big details that make an experience pleasurable, coherent, tuned and successful. I always look for ways of improving the process while doing, hands on.

I believe team work is crucial to achieve a great design: both internally between designers and with external inputs. I face design challenges through empathy: towards end users, but also towards all service actors, from clients to deliverers.

I express my ideas through prototypes, being them rough sketches, Wizards of Oz, body storms or semi-functioning products.
